This medallion with the phrase “Visit the bowels of the earth and, correcting, find the hidden stone” was created by the famous alchemist Basil Valentin.
It combines the seven alchemical forces belonging to the planets and the four elements, and calls for the search for the philosopher’s stone – the original source of all that exists – within oneself.
